Men’s Mental Health Day is an annual event that aims to break down stigma around men and mental illnesses by encouraging discussion on men’s mental health needs. Stigmas surrounding mental illnesses may make it difficult for men to identify mental health issues, and as a result, men are often misdiagnosed, or undiagnosed.
Men experience higher risk of suicide, and more than 75% of people who die by suicide are men. It is important for men to check in on their mental health and reach out for support when needed.
1 in 10 men will experience depression in their lifetime. The good news is that prevention and recovery are possible. Learn more: https://menshealthfoundation.ca/blog
